B. Pavan Kumar (M’10-SM’15) was born in Hindupur, India, in 1984. He received the M.Tech. degree in electronic system and communication from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Rourkela, India, in 2007. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India He was with IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata. In 2008, he joined Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Bengaluru, India, where he has been with the Communication Systems Group, U. R. Rao Satellite Center (formerly ISRO Satellite Center). He has been actively involved in the design, development, and testing of several microwave antennas and passive components for satellites microwa and ground stations of ISRO. His current research interests include phased array antennas, reflector antennas, tracking antennas, lightweight antennas, and rotary joints for spacecrafts. Mr. Kumar is a Life Member of Astronautical Society of India and Society for Small Satellite Systems of India. He is an active Reviewer of the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters.
