V. Senthil Kumar (M’10) was born in Vilathikulam, Tamilnadu, India, in 1971. He received the B.E. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India, in 1992 and the M.E. degree in communication systems from Anna University, Chennai, India, in 1994.,He was a Deputy Project Director (RF Systems) for Megha-Tropiques project, a joint development by ISRO, India, and CNES, France, and was responsible for many RF systems development. Since March 1996, he has been with the Antenna division, Communication Systems Group, U. R. Rao Satellite Center (formerly ISRO Satellite Center), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Bengaluru, India, where he currently heads the Antennas Division. He has been involved in the design and development of Spacecraft antennas. In 2002, he was a Guest Scientist with the Antenna Research Group, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Cologne, Germany. He has authored or coauthored 88 technical articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He holds a patent on ultralow sidelobe antenna arrays. His current research interests include phased array antennas and microstrip arrays for spacecraft application.,Mr. Kumar received the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC)-Government of India Award in 1998 for the design of low-cost monopulse tracking antenna system and the ISRO Team Achievement Award for his contribution to Megha-Tropiques satellite in 2013
